HIKING the TATRA MOUNTAINS

There are 275 km of marked tourist trails located in the Tatra National Park (the park was established in 1954 and covers an area of 21,197 hectares), with various degrees of difficulty from very easy to extremely difficult ones, fitted with safety equipment, such as chains, iron steps or rope ladders. The various colours (yellow, red, blue, green and black), the trails are marked with, don't indicate the degree of difficulty, but they help to identify the individual route in the open area.
A ticket to the Tatra National Park costs 5 PLN (2,50 PLN for kids).

• On the territory of Tatra National Park walking is allowed on marked tourist routes only!
• Dogs are not allowed in the Tatra National Park!
• Camping in the Tatra National Park is not allowed. The only possibility of accommodation in the Tatra Mountains is accommodation in one of the eight shelters. Here you will find a list of them: shelters in Polish Tatra Mountains

Our suggestions: try to start your hiking early morning (around 8.00 am or even earlier in August) to avoid walking in the crowds. Don't forget a rucksack with some drink, food and a jumper and waterproof jacket.

Notice please that even Tatra Mountains seems to be very small (one can climb the highest summit Rysy in 6 hours) many routes are very difficult.

WALKING PRIVATE TOURS

Walking, sightseeing tours for individual tourists DISCOVER ZAKOPANE & TATRA NATIONAL PARK:

All of our tours are “private” (we don’t mix groups) and all the tours are guided by English speaking, licensed Tatra Guides! The route of each tour is set up individually according your expectations and physical fitness and usually can be slightly modified during the tour.
The tours are divided into three categories because of their duration - STANDARD, HALF-DAY TOUR and ALL-DAY TAOUR. Difficulty of routes are set individually with the customer - in every category you can plan easy, medium or difficult route. Usually it is possible to change the shorter tour into the longer one during the tour (standard tour into the half-day, or half-day into the all-day). In case of very bad weather clients can decide to change the longer tours they’ve booked into the shorter one.

STANDARD TOUR

STANDARD TOUR - up to 4 hours walking tour through the Zakopane or to one of the shorter valleys in the Tatra National Park. Recommended routes: Zakopane and Gubalowka (with a funicular ride); Zakopane and Kasprowy Wierch (with a cable car ride); Zakopane and Strazyska Valley; Kuznice - Kalatowki - Białego Valley - Ski Jumping Hill (optional chair-lift ride); Nosal - Olczyska Valley - Jaszczurówka ; Kuznice - Olczyska Valley - Kopieniec - Cyrhla (minibus ride back to the centre);

HALF-DAY TOUR

HALF-DAY TOUR - up to 6 hours tour. Six hours guided tour can be divided between easy hiking through the one of the small valleys and sightseeing walk through the Zakopane. You can also visit one of the well known valleys (Kościeliska, Chocholowska) or decide to go to Morskie Oko lake. There are plenty of nice routes in the Tatra National Park which you can follow during this Half-Day Tour.

ALL-DAY TOUR

ALL-DAY TOUR - up to 8 hours tour. When you decide to book the All-Day Tour you will have many possibilities to plan your day in Zakopane and / or the Tatra Mountains. You can spend six hours in the mountains and then walk around the Zakopane to get familiar with an interesting history of our home-town. You can get in the early morning to the top of Kasprowy Wierch (by cable car) to start rather demanding hiking through the beautiful passes of the Western or High Tatras. Maciek and Beata (Licensed Tatra Guides) help you to choose the best option according your skills and the current weather.
Recommended routes: Mount Giewont or Mount ŚWINICA or Mount KOŚCIELEC, Morskie Oko lake through the Five Lakes Valley.
