Summer holidays in Zakopane - our suggestions

DAY 1st: visiting the town of Zakopane...

Lazy walk around Zakopane - , market square at the foot of Gubałówka, Old Cemetery and Old Church at Kościeliska street, Krupowki street, Piłsudskiego street, Ski Jumping Hill Wielka Krokiew and back to Krupówki.

an option for active tourists:

Discover Zakopane by… Nordic Walking - guided walking, sightseeing tours around Zakopane combined with personal tuition of Nordic Walking.

DAY 2nd: Tatra National Park...

Cable car trip to Kasprowy Wierch (cable car tickets should be bought in advance to avoid queuing) - an hour walk on the top of Kasprowy - cable car ride back to Kasprowy and walk back to the centre of Zakopane through the nice park of Zamoyski, Karłowicza, Droga na Antałówkę and Broniewskiego streets.

an option for active tourists:

after getting by cable car to the top of Kasprowy take a walk through the Goryczkowa Czuba, Kopa Kondracka to the famous Mt. Giewont and then back to Zakopane through Strążyska Valley or Dolina Kondratowa and Kuźnice. Or just go back to Kuznice through the Gasienicowa Valley and Boczan (the shortes way - aprox. 3-4 hours of hiking)

DAY 3rd: Pieniny National Park...

One Day Trip with the rafting through spectacular Dunajec Gorge, short rest in Szczawnica Spa Town and visiting tiny, wooden church in Dębno Podhalańskie, the only one monument in our area which is on the UNESCO list. You can book day trip to Pieniny National Park here >>>

an option for active tourists:

rafting through the Dunajec Gorge can be combined with hiking to the Mt. Three Crowns (Trzy Korony) the second highest summit in Pieniny Mountains.

DAY 4th: Slovak Tatra National Park...

One Day Bus trip to Slovakia - High Tatras or Lomnicki Peak

an option for active tourists:

take a morning Strama Bus to Tatrzańska Łomnica - then gondola lift to Skalnate Pleso (plus a cable car ride to the top of Łomnica - the second highest summit in Tatra Mountains - during the summer holidays I suggest to book ticket in advance). After coming back from the top of Łomnica take a walk to Hrebieniok (aprox. 2 hrs), than funicular ride down to Stary Smokovec . This is very nice village with plenty of restaurant so don't miss the ocassion to taste the Slovak food (garlic soup and famous knedliczki). Take a Strama bus back to Zakopane.
